Ford
garage bosses Malcolm Dunn and Robert Armstrong are carrying
on a successful North-East business partnership, started
many years ago by their fathers, Eddie and Bob.
When the
Fathers retired from Moordale Coaches of Eldon Square, Newcastle
in 1989, their sons looked to take up the entrepreneurial
mantle, acquiring their first motor dealership two years
later.
In its
first year of operation under their direction, Cramlington
Ford handled the sale of 50 new cars. 14 years on, the dealership
now delivers over 400 cars per year.
Within
just two years of its Cramlington acquisition, the company
began operation of its second Ford franchise, a former Priory
dealership with the new name of Blyth Valley Ford.
Each of
the group's two retail Ford dealerships has been expanded
to incorporate a full range of services, including MoT testing
and car hire, and each is a Motability centre, with trained
Motability specialists.
As consistent
winners of Ford's Dealer of Distinction, the company is reaping
the benefits of its commitment to customer care, with an
unusually high 70pc average of repeat business.
